Straight off the plains and onto the page, Dave White’s newest edition for 2020 exudes all the measured power and regality of your favourite big cat, the Lion. Printed with the highest quality flatbed techniques and screen printed UV varnishes here in the UK, White has been producing exquisitely editions for over ten years and only the best of the best meet his incredibly high standards, so we’re sure the King of the Jungle would be happy with his depiction.

In the typical style of Dave White, the majestic predator isn’t captured mid-hunt or displaying his fearsome jaws, but resting, relaxed and in calm consideration. Across White’s impressive 25-year portfolio almost every one of his paintings and editions treat their subjects this way, its White’s lifelong obsession and respect for Earth’s wildlife that draws him to these animals, not a voyeuristic compulsion. Each animal is conveyed as you might spot them in the wild, relaxed and at home in their territory, rather than leaping into action which might provide a more dramatic final image.

White’s lifelong passion for conservation and raising awareness of our most endangered species has always been the driving force behind his sensitive depictions, and are why his 25-year career has led him to become on of the UK’s most prominent urban artists.
