VOYDER has spent the last twenty years developing his multidisciplinary practice to evolve from purist graffiti tagging and wild style piecing, to figurative oil painting.
Nowadays he’s best known for combining the two on large scale mixed media paintings.
Using a tag or a simple wipe as a way into these otherwise distorted images, VOYDER plays with the idea of layers, one layer obscuring what lies beneath, which only becomes visible through the graphic emblazoned across the front of the image.
These works truly are a juxtaposition of two very different ways of producing imagery, with influences from completely different places being forced together into a single coherent visual. The finished pieces speak about the artist’s life, people and events within it, to create an autobiographical body of work that spans over a thousand years in its influences and inspiration.
VOYDER is currently based in London, UK, but exhibits his work and paints regularly around the world.
