London based artist Soozy Lipsey uses a wide variety of media to reimagine the ordinary and traditional into fantastical creations imbued with both nostalgia and the macabre. Lipsey’s technique combines the repurposing of objects or images with the uncanny and unexpected, resulting in imaginative, arresting works that exist outside of any discernible style or movement.
Playing with a wide variety of media, her work catalogue includes sculptural pieces using found objects, 2D works – paintings, mixed media collages, and prints. With works appearing across different platforms over 25 years, Soozy eimagines the ordinary and traditional combing with contemporary mark making in bright colours, whilst encourage the viewer to make new connections between ideas, emotions and imagery.
