Snoe is a graffiti artist living in London, England. He made the city his canvas since 1995, after relocating there from his home city of Plymouth in Devon, where he first began painting in the streets in the mid-1980s.
As a dedicated practitioner of graffiti art for 35 years, he is considered a ‘style master’ by his contemporaries with international recognition. Taking influences from various sources throughout his career, his style is a hybrid form with a base of hardcore New York graffiti lettering, filled with a painted collage of 60s psychedelic era art, pop art, vintage cartoon and comic art, design, pattern making, spray painting techniques, and other captivating sources.
He is now taking this stylistic approach from the street into the gallery, condensing it into a new form where the lettering is stripped away, allowing the viewer to explore the painterly aspects of his practice. Capturing qualities of light, sumptuous colour, and layered patterns, combined with spray-painting techniques and mixed media, Snoe is set to open up a whole new set of possibilities in the aesthetics of graffiti art.
