Oksana Valentelis’ screen printed artworks are based upon the artist’s collection of paper masks each based upon a different animal. Each piece displays a fantastic textural quality reflecting their cut paper origins and each colourful creature displays a different series of colours, carefully selected by the artist and symbolic to that specific creature.
Valentelis was raised in the post Soviet climes of Eastern Europe, where she got her first taste for art in the regimented and strict environment of Soviet Art School, but moved to London as a teenager and studied Graphic Design at Central St Martins.
