What is our idea of heaven at Nelly Duff you ask? It is with complete certainty and conviction that we can say, hosting the incredible Matt Small’s brand new solo show ‘Precious’ at Nelly Duff this September.

Having exclusively released wonderful printed editions with Small for the last seven years, the stars have aligned and this Autumn we are thrilled to announce this showcase of never before seen original works and limited editions.

A dazzling combination of large mosaics and exquisitely painted portraits on metal and wood, Small’s signature re-use of found materials features heavily in this moving collection of portraits. In 2020, a year where the future has become so uncertain for so many young people, ‘Precious’ seems more poignant than ever. Small has always been drawn to painting younger people, with the intention of effectively communicating their energy and voices that so often, particularly now, are not being heard. ‘Precious’ elevates their identities, and describes their lives and futures as exactly what they are – Precious.
