While their artwork might show us what’s going on inside their heads, that leaves us wondering, what’s going on inside their studio? In this feature, Team Nelly gets an exclusive insight into the minds, studios and snacking habits of our brilliant artists. This week, premier draughtsman and nature lover Jessica Albarn lets us know her top ten of all things weird and wonderful.
ND: Favourite place to work?
JA: In my Studio at the end of my garden.
ND: Favourite music to listen to while working?
JA: I am very old fashioned in the studio and I tend to play my favourite Cd’s on rotation.
I like an album which takes me somewhere in my head. And then when I get one that works well with the piece I am doing
I listen to it everyday.

ND: Favourite contemporary artist on the scene today?
JA: Not sure I have a favourite, but Benjamin Bjorklund is a great painter I found on Instagram.
And of course Matt Collishaw’s work is very interesting.
ND: Favourite snack to power your artistic process?
JA: Expensive chocolate.
ND: Favourite ever album cover?
JA: Again I am not very good at picking my favourite, but I was a massive Pixies fan
and I have a limited edition collection of posters from the ‘Doolittle’ album designed by Vaughn Oliver.
ND: Favourite exhbition of 2017 (big or small!)
JA: William Kentridge at the Whitechapel
ND: Favourite animal?
JA: Bees, but I love all animals.
ND: Favourite medium to work with?
JA: Pencil and paper.
ND: Favourite tipple of choice after a day’s work?
JA: Negroni.
